Xander hadn't forgotten what day it was just because there was a date yesterday too. In fact shopping for today might have something to do with why he was a little late for yesterday.

...And being a Harris might have something to do with why his apartment now smells like a combination of chocolate cake and burny, burny death.

Hooray for good ventilation systems? By which we mean a fan and a lot of open windows.

It's hard to look shifty-eyed with only one eye, but Xander manages it. "J,GoB isn't bad at it either."

He carries the chocolate flowers over to the den and points at the coffee table. On which there's a rather large box of cupcakes.

"I might've planned ahead for catastrophic cake failure."

Bridge follows, placing the remaining packages next to the box of cupcakes. And, perhaps predictably, reaching right for the chocolate-and-peanut-butter cupcake. "Yet another reason why I love you," he says.

"It's goodto know you don't only want me for my cupcakes." Xander sprawls on the couch.

"I also enjoy the part where I give you a prize for winning with cupcakes," Bridge points out.

"Huuh. I do seem to recall something about that in the game rules."

"Thought you might," Bridge says, leaning over to give Xander the aforementioned prize.

"Yeah, it's funny how some things stick with you. Or to; I'm not picky."

"M'glad you picked *me*," Bridge replies.

"Technically speaking a possessed dorm room picked you. I just ended up agreeing with it."

"Well, then, I'm glad you had the sense to listen to a possessed dorm room." Bridge blinks. "Uh, in that case, anyway. If a room ever told you to kill people or set things on fire it would not be sensible to listen to it."

"Oh sure, tell me that after the cake..."

Bridge just stares.

Xander stares back, but it may be slightly ruined by the snickering at the end.

Bridge sticks out his tongue. "Well, now I'm not sure if I should let you open these," he says, indicating the two small boxes he'd brought with him.

"What if I offer to trade sexual favors?"

"It's a deal," Bridge says quickly, obligingly handing over the one wrapped in silver paper (http://www.fredflare.com/customer/product.php?productid=3681&cat=343).

Xander gives it a huge thumbs-up when he's peeled the paper off. "Hot cocoa - A MAN's drink. Awesome!"

"The heart marshmallows make it extra-manly," Bridge says solemnly.

"I love you so much," Xander says, cracking up. "You have no idea."

"I don't know," Bridge says. "I think I might. I mean, I *do* love you kind of a lot"

"Also you're you're psychic. So okay, maybe you do." Xander waves a hand in a gesture indicating either I am reading your energy signature or wow, this toast is really buttery.

"That too," Bridge says. "Though I think I'd be able to tell even if I weren't."

"So you're saying I lack subtlety." Xander puts one hand on his chest as if wounded. And pulls a card out from behind one of the sofa cushions with the other.

"I'm saying you- are the best boyfriend ever in the history of everness," Bridge says, reading the card and grinning like a dork. Not that he hasn't been doing so pretty steadily all evening, but the card manages to turn it up a notch.

"I guess I can live with that," Xander says after a moment of assessment.
