Character History

Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer - verse, which belongs to Joss Whedon et al. I borrow the the character for the purpose of informal play, not profit.

Canon source: The tv series up to the last few episodes of Season 3, after which Xander goes AU. In this Xander's timeline, there was no graduation firefight in Sunnydale, because everybody got transferred out to other schools -- not necessarily in the same dimension -- thus nobody around for the Mayor to eat. Which means he had to take Senior Year over at Fandom High, but it made a nice trade for not being snake food.

Xander at Fandom High: Xander missed most of (a really AU) Season 4 due to being at FH. He graduated in Spring of 2006 at age 19, taught Scoobying 101 for two sessions of FH Summer Camp, then went home to his dimension to go to UC Sunnydale with Buffy and Willow.

Xander away from Fandom: He meant to come back to visit Fandom, and tried to e-mail his friends (and then-boyfriend) over the six years that passed, but the minute the portal back home closed behind him so did any ability to contact Fandom High, due to the timeline trying to protect itself. Until 2007.<

Xander in Town: He came to pick up a Slayer who shouldn't have existed, not expecting to find her on an island that hadn't existed for the last six years. Who here would like to take bets that she's not going to be all that eager to follow him home to join Team Buffy? To file also under 'unexpected,' we have "Surprise! You're the new owner/manager of a bouncing baby apartment complex!"

Xander now: After a year and a half back on the island, he's watched his Slayer and most of his close friends graduate and move on to the future -- and now so is he. Literally the future, about fifteen years forward and a universe to the left, with the once-and-future boyfriend. Minus the boyfriend part, and plus a couple of rings. And a baby. Who is now six. Out Of Character Info

Availability: Eastern timezone. I work weekdays 8 to 5, more or less, and am sometimes available to play during those hours, sometimes not. After 5 on weekdays, and most waking hours on weekends, I'm online somewhere. And I'm always contactable by e-mail at mpoetess at gmail.com.

Me as a player:

Real talk, I don't play much/at all at this time, and am mostly connected to the game as an admin. I am still here; I'm just kind of invisible except when I send out an e-mail or make a rare announcement post to the OOC community.

My worklife and my brainmatter are currently a bad combination for being able to play a character, but I do plan to return to IC life eventually. When that happens...

Me + ability to concentrate on many threads/posts at once + Generalized Anxiety Disorder|= OTP. If you see Xander in a large post and he's only responding to people who directly ping his thread, it's not because I don't want to talk to you - it's just that it's easier on my concentration to stick to one main thread. None of this means I won't be happy to play in any particular post with you folk; it just means everything's a case-by-case "Is my brain currently exploding?" situation.

If you need Xander someplace he's not, just grab me beforehand to figure out whether we're both/all available for an interaction. (If you play a Buffyverse character and need an NPC Xander, I'm happy to help, too - but I won't be at all hurt if you'd rather write it yourself or use another player!)

Please talk to me about anything I do that's bothering you, whether it's in-character actions or OOC gameplaying issues. I can't fix it if I don't realize it's happening, and I don't pick up gentle hints well. (That's misleading. I pick up gentle hints too well, seeing them even when they're not there, thus occasionally annoying people with my paranoia about whether I'm annoying people. Yay anxiety neuroses! So my only safe path, not that I'm always able to stick to it, is to assume that if no one tells me there's a problem, there isn't one.)

Icon minion at your service, time-permitting. If you need a character's hair or clothes re-colored, an OTP icon, prom dress, something cracky for a plot like...uh...a Carmen Miranda hat which I have never *cough* done to any of my characters, or 'hey, the Abominable Snowman and Hello Kitty are co-hosting radio tonight, can you make us an icon in the next half hour?' -- give me a poke. Not dirty. If I have time, I love doing that kind of stuff.
