Doing maintenance and reconstruction for SPD wasn't exactly like being the construction crew for Team Buffy, but it was still a small enough staff that Xander was pretty sure nobody would be around to yell at him for having a seat on the bottom rung of his ladder and making some calls. It sure as hell beat actually watching the paint dry.

[OOC: Open for twinkiephone contact, the singular of spice, or anybody else who happens to be wandering the hallways of 2024.]

That whistling coming from the kitchen in MCA Number Zero? That's not the teakettle. First because Xander doesn't have a teakettle, and second because it's the whistling of a happy man with happy pasta boiling away on the happy stove, who got to see Version 1.0 of one of his favorite people today, and gets to have happy pasta for happy dinner with another of them tonight. In short, it's one of the best days to ever have the word "Parents" attached to it that Xander can ever remember experiencing. Largely because there have been no actual parents involved in it.

None of which explains why he's whistling Macho Man. Possibly it's the apron?

[OOC: for two dinner guests, one expected and one... not so much.]

After a night of patrolling with Mel turned into Slayerfest 2007, Xander had decided to pass on following that up with a trip to Caritas, and had instead headed home to relax. He could thus now be found curled up on the couch poking Amazon.com about a new copy of a certain book, now that his laptop was all shipshape and internets-getting again, post-blackout.

To say it'd been a weird couple of weeks for a lot of his friends would be an understatement. Xander knew a movie night wasn't going to magically fix that, but it least it would give them a chance to relax a little.

So he had the basic necessities: popcorn, stuff in the kitchen for more substantial snacks, over-caffeinated soda and, of course, movies. The box of his things that had arrived from storage this week contained most of his dvds, not that he'd amassed all that many since Sunnydale went boom, but certainly enough for tonight.

And Harper had been nice enough to leave the place furnished with a less than basic necessity - the huge tv in the den. Xander wasn't about to claim this job didn't have perks.

So now he (and Jeremiah, who was supervising the proceedings from a table near the couch) were just ( waiting for people to show up. )

And, you know, fall asleep. As you do. )
