Xander hadn't forgotten what day it was just because there was a date yesterday too. In fact shopping for today might have something to do with why he was a little late for yesterday.

...And being a Harris might have something to do with why his apartment now smells like a combination of chocolate cake and burny, burny death.

Hooray for good ventilation systems? By which we mean a fan and a lot of open windows.

Bridge is for once, not wearing the uniform. He's still wearing *clothes*, of course, they're just of the green button-up shirt with slacks variety. He's also made a mostly unsuccessful attempt to convince his hair to, well, if it's going to stick up, at least stick up in the same *direction*.

He's also got his arms full of a dozen roses (http://www.economycandy.com/store/product1.aspx?SID=1&Product_ID=2574&Category_ID=81), sort of, and a few other packages, which is why he's knocking with the toe of one shoe instead of just using the key.

Xander on the other hand is wearing an apron that says "Please Don't Kill The Cook" over his clothes when he answers the door, and he's got chocolate frosting on his nose. "Hey."

"Hi!" Bridge beams, noticing the chocolate-on-the-nose but not feeling the need to mention it. Yet. "For you," he says, handing over the 'flowers'. Because otherwise Xander might think they were for Jeremiah, right.

Xander starts to blink because flowers, not exactly their--- ahhh. He grins. "Long-stemmed chocolate. My favorite."

"I know roses are traditional for Valentine's, but we've never really done the flowers thing, unless you count prom that first year, so I wasn't going to get any, but then I saw these and I thought you'd like them." He then sniffs the air with a puzzled frown. "...Is it burny in here?"

Yeah, also cold. Open windows'll do that. Xander coughs. Only partly from the smoke inhalation.

"There was, um. A cake? Well, it was meant to be."

Which explains the icing-nose, really. "You made a cake," Bridge bounces, bypassing the part where Xander had also admitted it was an ex-cake. With his hands no longer completely occupied, he moves as if to give Xander a kiss. Except for the part where he's aiming for his nose instead of mouth.

Not like Xander's gonna duck away from that, though he's a little puzzled.

Bridge's tongue darts out to take care of that icing problem, because why use a napkin or a paper towel or something silly like that when a tongue will do the job just as well? And not waste the chocolate, even. Much more economical and environmentally friendly.

With the icing taken care of, he then moves down for a proper kiss.

Okay, now he's less puzzled. And slightly chocolate-flavored.

"Happy Valentine's Day," Bridge murmurs, breaking the kiss but not letting go just yet.

"Even though I fail at cake?" He's not teasing too hard; there's a smile on his lips. And no chocolate on his nose.

"Even though you fail at cake," Bridge echoes. "It just means you need to practice more," he says. "Maybe Anders can help. I mean, he's pretty good with cupcakes, it stands to reason he might know his way around a non-cup-sized cake."

It's hard to look shifty-eyed with only one eye, but Xander manages it. "J,GoB isn't bad at it either."

He carries the chocolate flowers over to the den and points at the coffee table. On which there's a rather large box of cupcakes.

"I might've planned ahead for catastrophic cake failure."

Bridge follows, placing the remaining packages next to the box of cupcakes. And, perhaps predictably, reaching right for the chocolate-and-peanut-butter cupcake. "Yet another reason why I love you," he says.

"It's goodto know you don't only want me for my cupcakes." Xander sprawls on the couch.

"I also enjoy the part where I give you a prize for winning with cupcakes," Bridge points out.

"Huuh. I do seem to recall something about that in the game rules."

"Thought you might," Bridge says, leaning over to give Xander the aforementioned prize.

"Yeah, it's funny how some things stick with you. Or to; I'm not picky."

"M'glad you picked *me*," Bridge replies.

"Technically speaking a possessed dorm room picked you. I just ended up agreeing with it."

"Well, then, I'm glad you had the sense to listen to a possessed dorm room." Bridge blinks. "Uh, in that case, anyway. If a room ever told you to kill people or set things on fire it would not be sensible to listen to it."
