"So we're on seven, right?" Xander asks Bridge as he strikes a match. He knows the answer, because it's not exactly the first Hanukkah celebration he's been to (not even counting the previous six nights) but it never hurts to confirm with the experts.

[OOC: Shh, yes, we know 2023 wouldn't match up with this year's Jewish calendar. Shh. It's another dimension and G-d knows these guys are so timefrakked anyway that who knows what day it really is for them. OH ALSO open for the locals, and/or calls from FH friends.]

"I'm fairly sure potato pancakesweren't the question," Xander says, helping himself to several of them. "Mmmm. Possibly the answer, though."

"Glad to oblige," Bridge says, hand reaching out for a doughnut.

"Yeah?" Xander asks with interest. "Were these what you were cooking? I could smell that something wasn't coming out of the replicator."

"Yep," Bridge nods. "Well, I mean, the doughnuts were a little beyond my cooking ability but latkes I can do."

"So I guess it's a good thing I bought you a doughnut-maker for--um." Xander winces. "That wasn't yesterday's present, was it."

"...No?" Bridge blinks. "Wait, seriously?" he asks, grinning like a dork. Not that he's really capable of any other sort of grin.

"I could always trade it for a bagel-slicer if I ruined the surprise?" Xander says. Though...he kind of ruined the surprise on the bagel-slicer there too.

"Hey, it was still a surprise," Bridge points out. "It just became not-a-surprise earlier than planned, is all."

Xander ducks over to a shelf next to one of the large video game consoles in the room, which he tends to partake of in his off-hours purely to increase his eye-hand coordination and not at all because he's desperately trying to beat Ghost's high score.

"Ripping off the paper might not be as much fun, though," he says apologetically, holding out a green and silver wrapped package.

Bridge raises an eyebrow at Xander. "I think you underestimate my ability to be enthusiastic about something," he says, before, well, ripping rather enthusiastically into the wrapping paper.

Xander laughs hard. "Which you'd think I'd know by now is...what's the word? Inconceivable."

"One way to put it," Bridge says, finishing his inspection of the present and then setting it carefully on the couch in order to properly thank Xander.

"Mmm," Xander replies, and does something that in certain dialects could be translated as you're welcome.

"Want your present?" Bridge asks after several moments.

"...I get something else?"

"Yes. Dork. The kiss was just extra."

"Like a stocking stuffer?"

Xander didn't even try to make that sound not dirty, no. It was a lost cause.

"Precisely," the innuendo might've gone right over Bridge's head.

...Or it might not've.

Xander grins. "Consider me stuffed, then."

"Too stuffed for a present?" Bridge asks.

"There's always room for p-r-s-n-t!" Xander frowns. "That works better with Jello. which honestly you could say about a lot of things. So present?"

"I don't think this present goes all that well with Jello," Bridge says dubiously, wandering over to pick up something (http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/tools/a712/) wrapped in metallic green (oh-so-surprising, no?) paper, which he hands over to Xander.

"It's green!" Xander points out as he sets about ripping off said paper with not much less enthusiasm than Bridge had shown. "It would go with green jello."

"As long as you don't put it *in* the Jello," Bridge says mock-sternly.

Xander has reached the plastic casing by now, and, well. You know that look 12 year old boys get when you hand them a shiny new toy? With buttons? That measures stuff?

"I could figure out the area of the bowl by measuring the circumference and diameter, though," Xander says, gleefully - if vainly - attempting to open the childproof packaging.
