"So we're on seven, right?" Xander asks Bridge as he strikes a match. He knows the answer, because it's not exactly the first Hanukkah celebration he's been to (not even counting the previous six nights) but it never hurts to confirm with the experts.

[OOC: Shh, yes, we know 2023 wouldn't match up with this year's Jewish calendar. Shh. It's another dimension and G-d knows these guys are so timefrakked anyway that who knows what day it really is for them. OH ALSO open for the locals, and/or calls from FH friends.]

"Too stuffed for a present?" Bridge asks.

"There's always room for p-r-s-n-t!" Xander frowns. "That works better with Jello. which honestly you could say about a lot of things. So present?"

"I don't think this present goes all that well with Jello," Bridge says dubiously, wandering over to pick up something (http://www.thinkgeek.com/gadgets/tools/a712/) wrapped in metallic green (oh-so-surprising, no?) paper, which he hands over to Xander.

"It's green!" Xander points out as he sets about ripping off said paper with not much less enthusiasm than Bridge had shown. "It would go with green jello."

"As long as you don't put it *in* the Jello," Bridge says mock-sternly.

Xander has reached the plastic casing by now, and, well. You know that look 12 year old boys get when you hand them a shiny new toy? With buttons? That measures stuff?

"I could figure out the area of the bowl by measuring the circumference and diameter, though," Xander says, gleefully - if vainly - attempting to open the childproof packaging.

Bridge just watches, trying not to look too amused. Well, and also trying to resist the urge to offer to help. "You could," he says. "And we could then calculate the optimal amount of Jello to *make* in the bowl."

Xander glares at the package for a second, then reaches into his pocket for his Swiss Army knife. ha, take that, evil plastic. "We could. We won't, but we could."

"But then how will we know how much Jello to make?"

"I usually stop when there's no more powder in the package." Xander slides the blade of his knife around the edges of the plastic and frees the measuring tool, holding it up. "Shiiiiiny."

"Right, but if there's room in the bowl for more than one package of Jello then it'd be sort of inefficient to make separate batches, wouldn't it?" Bridge muses.

"I'm glad you like it. The present, not the Jello. Though I'm glad you like Jello too, because I'm also a fan. Of Jello."

"Shiiiiny," Xander repeats intelligently. Because new toy. With a laser pointer. Which he waves around, making a spot dance on the wall. "This, not the jello."

"I'm also a fan of the Xander-with-new-toy look," Bridge says fondly.

Xander glances up from the new toy. "There's a Look? I have a Look?"

"You have a lot of Looks," Bridge lookmods answers with a grin.

"That's a pretty neat trick for a guy with only one eye!"

"Xander-with-new-toy is right up there with just-been-kissed-Xander," Bridge informs him, "on my scale of favourite looks." The "just been kissed *by Bridge*" part is sort of implied. He hopes.

Except now Xander's frowning at his new toy. Then glancing back to Bridge. "You sure you don't need to compare and contrast those?"

"There's a rating system," Bridge says. "I've got it all worked out, really, the result of painstaking research and-" he trails off, looking at Xander speculatively. "You know, maybe that's a good idea."

"For science?"

"For science," Bridge nods once, solemnly, and moves forward to close the distance between the two of them.

"You realize I'm throwing this whole thing off by holding the new toy while I get kissed, right?" Xander asks, not putting down the new toy.

"Maybe," Bridge says. "Or maybe I'm just interested to see if there's a third look to compete for top spot," and then he goes ahead and tests that theory.

There is a third look, as it turns out. Not that, once Bridge is testing his theory, Xander is thinking all that much about the new toy.

"...Yeah, I think you kind of just blew the competition away, there," Bridge says, grinning at Xander.
