MCA #0, Friday afternoon

After sloshing out for some lunch and checking the outside of (Y)MCA to make sure the rising damp wasn't making its way into the apartments, Xander was sitting in the living room with his laptop, listening to the radio again, since the first run-through had mostly been obliterated from his memory by his momentary freakage at Broots' totally incorrect description of yesterday's TOTALLY NON-MAKING-OUT-FILLED events.

Freakage slightly less now that he noted the ongoing theme of 'squirrels gone wild' in last night's broadcast, but still.

Xander put the radio podcast on pause and answered his cell's default ring without checking the call-ID. "Hello?"

"Hey Xander," Isabel said. "I got your message. I love you to."

"Isabel!" That was the sound of at least one strand of Xander's hair deciding to stay brown. "Where are you?"

"The dorms," she replied, the time on Antar had been unpleasant enough that she had no desire to joke about still being there. "I got back this morning."

"Are you okay?" Important questions first - What the hell happened could come later.

"Yeah, I'm okay." And she was physically. Mostly. Mentally was a whole other subject but Isabel wasn't about to get into that now.

Which Xander respected? But he was totally giving her a Bitch, please face over the phone, because you didn't need to be Bridge to hear that she didn't sound all that okay.

"What happened? Or are you not up for that yet?"

"Honestly? I'm not. I'm tired and jet lagged and I still can't quite believe I'm here," Isabel said. "Although hearing that Jack got turned into a girl yesterday sort of helps. Only in Fandom, you know?"

"I did too, if that helps more. So did Bridge."

"It does. I want pictures if you have them. Parker said nobody got pictures of Jack."

"There are no pictures. None. Zip. Nada," Xander told her. "And they're not on my computer already and I won't e-mail them to you."

"Awww, come on," she wheedled. "I bet you made a pretty girl."

Dripping wet but at least boy-shaped this time, Bridge knocks on Xander's door in the late afternoon.

Xander opens it and shakes his head, already heading to grab a towel as he beckons Bridge in. "Hey - you get my handwavy message?"

"Message?" Bridge frowns. "Uh, no," he says, as he steps inside.

"Isabel's back!" Xander calls from the bathroom, coming back with a towel, which he holds out.

That makes Bridge grin at least, despite any frown-inducing events of earlier today. "That's awesome!"

"She called me earlier, said she'd just got back this morning."

"I'll have to go say hi tomorrow, or something," Bridge decides.

"She said she might come by here soon, but I told her not to risk the pneumonia if it's still coming down like it is now." Xander glances away, towards the glass doors.

"It's getting a little... yeesh," Bridge makes a face. "At least drying my hair doesn't take quite as long as it did yesterday."

"Yeeeeeah, I'm kinda glad I didn't go out in that, then." Because Xander's hair was, for reasons known only to God, a leeetle long as a girl, yes.

"So if you didn't get my message about Isabel, did you just slosh over here because you felt like jumping in puddles?"

"Maybe I did," says Bridge, who is totally lying.

"Mmm-hmm." It's not quite a bitch-please look. "Jump in any good ones?"
