MCA0, Monday Morning

Like last weekend, Xander had spent this one with his boyfriend. Unlike last weekend, said boyfriend was in no condition to do any... practice-exam-taking. As you do on Spring Break weekends. Instead, there was a lot of ice cream, ear-skritching, DVD-watching, and working up plans for a closet-remodel.

At least he still had a warm body to sleep with? Even if half the time he woke up with a furry tail tickling the end of his nose.

Which, oddly, isn't happening right now. Xander's 7/8ths asleep, so he isn't quite registering what's wrong with that, but his fingers are already patting around on the pillow reaching for something that isn't there.

That's because the something (or rather, someone) that *had* gone to sleep there had returned to being human-shaped at some point during the night. He'd pretty much been asleep at the time, so the idea of waking up Xander to go "oh, hey, so I'm me-shaped again" hadn't occurred to him at all. Instead, he'd just stretched out on the bed and rolled over to a more typical asleep-with-the-boyfriend position.

Xander pats the empty pillow again and frowns, then wakes up enough to realize there may not be someone on his pillow, but there's somebody in his bed.

"You better be Bridge," he mutters, working up the energy to crack open his eyelid.

"Nrrf," Bridge replies, shifting slightly. It may not be a tail, but Bridge's hair is probably doing a pretty good job of being nose-tickly.

"I'm gonna take that as a Nrrf."

"Morning," Bridge mumbles, tilting his head to blink sleepily up at Xander.

"You're naked," Xander says, which in his current state of consciousness seems more important to impart than You're not a ferret anymore.

"Hmm," Bridge says, fingers of one hand sliding lightly down Xander's arm until they reach *his* hand. "So I am."

"Also you're not a ferret anymore."

"I'm totally me-shaped," Bridge says. "Well, I guess I was still technically me-shaped when I was a ferret, I was just ferret-me-shaped, because it's not like I turned in to a *different* ferret each time that's happened, so I'm just the me that's human-shaped." And also can speak English.

Lots and lots of English. But it's not like Xander's complaining; it's nice to hear him talk after a weekend of squeaks.

"Yeah, you kind of are. You-shaped." That'd be Xander's fingers wandering all over the place, verifying that statement.

"And it's... it's only Monday, right?" Bridge frowns thoughtfully. "That leaves lots of time for Spring Break related activities that pretty much hinge on both of us being us-shaped."

"This is good. Because don't get me wrong, I love ferret-shaped you, but I'm not taking practice-exams with him. You. Furry-you."

"...Practice exams?" Bridge blinks, confused. "For what? I don't think I could even hold a pen as a ferret anyway."

"It's.... a Willow thing. Like many things that are Willow things, it doesn't mean the same thing when it's a Willow thing as it does when it's a Xander thing."

"Did she want you to do the writing parts for me since as a ferret I don't have hands so much as paws?" Bridge asks, clearly Not Getting It. "Because I think that sort of thing might be against the rules and *that* sounds suspiciously un-Willow-like."

"No, It's more like... If I gave you the category Fun Things You Could Do With A Partner Over Spring Break, what would be at the top of your list?"

"Depends on the partner, I guess," Bridge says. "I mean, there's actually two lists. The you-list, and the not-you list."

"Assume it was the me-list."

"Oh," Bridge thinks about this for a second. "*Oh*."

"Willow has slightly different priorities."

"Well if this is *her* you-list, I'd hope so, or we'd have to have a talk," Bridge frowns.

"I... think it's just her anybody list. Because she's Willow. And a week of no homework goes against the Geneva Convention."

"Oh," Bridge wrinkles his nose a bit. "Don't get me wrong, I like learning stuff, but I'm also a big fan of breaks. Especially when I've got the best boyfriend ever to spend 'em with." First Spring Break might not be quite as milestone-y as first Valentine's Day, but it still deserves celebration, Bridge feels.

"Well, it's not like we can't learn new things," Xander suggests with a grin that might possibly be construed as less than innocent.
