MCA0, Monday Morning

Like last weekend, Xander had spent this one with his boyfriend. Unlike last weekend, said boyfriend was in no condition to do any... practice-exam-taking. As you do on Spring Break weekends. Instead, there was a lot of ice cream, ear-skritching, DVD-watching, and working up plans for a closet-remodel.

At least he still had a warm body to sleep with? Even if half the time he woke up with a furry tail tickling the end of his nose.

Which, oddly, isn't happening right now. Xander's 7/8ths asleep, so he isn't quite registering what's wrong with that, but his fingers are already patting around on the pillow reaching for something that isn't there.

"Cutest Ferret Ever, in case you were wondering," Xander says. Because he has so much experience with non-Bridge ferrets, yes.

"Yeah?" Bridge asks. "I think you might be biased a little, there."

"Maybe," Xander agrees.

"There are probably actual ferrets who are cuter," Bridge reasons. "Because they've had time to practice being all ferrety."

"Yeah, but you're smarter. 'Cause you've still got you-brain when you're a ferret. Sort of."

"Ice cream is *very exciting*, okay?" Bridge says defensively.

"Well yeah, when you fall in it..."

"Can you blame me?" Bridge says. "I mean, it's not like I could use a spoon or anything."

"Hey, if I had a bowl of ice cream big enough to fall into, I would too."

"Mmm, ice cream covered Xander..."

"...I do have a really big bathtub."

"And a Synthetron," he's just never gonna get in the habit of referring to it as a 'food replicator', "so it's not like you'd have to go out and *buy* enough ice cream to fill it," Bridge says thoughtfully.

"Why have I never done this before?"

"Because I wasn't falling in to bowls of ice cream after having been transformed in to a ferret before?" Bridge points out.

Xander gives his best attempt at a straight face. It helps that it's, y'know, early morningish, and the light's not on. "Why not?"

"Because I usually remember to avoid the Preserve," Bridge explains. "Especially if I'm by myself."

"Hmm. More brilliant ideas about ice cream, or you turning furry less often." Xander weighs the options, complete with gestured scale.

"I'm sure if we try hard enough we can come up with some ice-cream related ideas even without me having to be a ferret," Bridge says. "I mean, we've got a whole week and all."

"This is true. And we can't spend all of it on practice exams."

"Which is not to say that we couldn't possibly find a way to *combine* the two..." Bridge helpfully points out.

"...You're gonna quiz me on whether I can memorize all 31 flavors?"

"Uh..." Bridge stares at Xander. "I was thinking more along the lines of a food-related discussion we had a few weeks ago, actually. And, um, possibly repeating something we did that time with the fort... Maybe even without the fort part..." he trails off, looking uncertain.

Xander says nothing. He just slides his hand down to poke Bridge in the belly, and grins.

"That's an anything you want to do to me, I'm up for."
