Food was, in theory, ready. This was because Xander had, in fact, totally cheated -- the only things that hadn't come from the food synthesizer were the coffee and pie. The pie was chocolate peanut butter pie, and consisted of peanut butter, milk, pudding, and Cool Whip, but at least he'd made it himself!

You do Thanksgiving your way, and he'll do it his, mm'kay?

Bridge was currently eyeing said pie, and weighing the problem of getting his gloves dirty versus sneaking a taste.

"Everything looks really good. You're getting better at this button-pressing thing," he informs Xander.

"It's all in the wrist," Xander says proudly, flicking his in a completely not-gay way.

"I can see that," Bridge says, raising an eyebrow at Xander.

"You say that, but your facial expression seems to indicate certain doubts or concerns," Xander tells him.

"I'm merely wondering how you came to possess such a skill," Bridge replies.

Z knocked at the door.

"Z!" Bridge exclaims happily as he opens the door. "Come in! We've got food." Okay, mostly replicated food but pssht.

Z pretty much lived off replicated food, so this was not a problem. "Was I supposed to bring anything?" she asked Bridge nervously. "I feel like I should have brought something."

"You brought you," Bridge says with a grin. "That's all that matters."

"You're cute when you're being cheesy," said Z, grinning back at him. "Even when you're not all old."

"Have a seat," Xander told her. "Have some genuine replicated turkey and cranberry sauce. And shammy yams."

"Ooh," said Z. "Genuine replicated food! My favorite!" No, really.

"You sound like you grew up in my house," Xander said with a snicker.

Z didn't know anything about Xander's house, but, "I wish."

Willow showed up with cookies. "If I hear anyone use the word 'ricer' I'm out the door. Just so we understand our boundaries."

"The only part of this dinner that didn't appear at the push of a button is the pie," Xander told her. "Ooh, and the cookies!"

"Well of course there are cookies," Willow said. "I see no harm in attempting to push the scales of thankfulness."

"I believe the object of Thanksgiving dinner is actually to destroy the scale," Xander pointed out, putting cookies on the table beside mashed potatoes, yams, turkey, That Green Bean Thing Somebody Always Makes And No One Ever Admits To Having Brought and cranberry sauce.

"Well yes," Willow said. "But thankfulness is what makes it a Thanksgiving dinner as opposed to us simply pigging out because we can. Not that those aren't fun too."

"I'm not sure I *understand* your rice-related boundaries but I will respect them all the same," Bridge says solemnly.

"Hi and Happy Thanksgiving!" Bridge replies. "Though as long as we're on the subject of boundaries if at some point in the evening there are games of a card-related nature I'd like to request that these games do not involve the word 'strip' in the title."

"I don't even know what a ricer is," Z told Willow. "I think you're safe."

"It is something to fear in a cooking conversation," Willow said. "I am all for food which makes tummies go yay, but I do not feel that there needs to be insanity to get us there."

Z hadn't really followed that--which, considering that she hung around with Bridge, was kind of impressive--so she said, "Oh. Okay."
