Food was, in theory, ready. This was because Xander had, in fact, totally cheated -- the only things that hadn't come from the food synthesizer were the coffee and pie. The pie was chocolate peanut butter pie, and consisted of peanut butter, milk, pudding, and Cool Whip, but at least he'd made it himself!

You do Thanksgiving your way, and he'll do it his, mm'kay?

"Okay, I... actually I can't argue with that. Though if this were any other time I might ask you to prove it. But company's going to be here very soon so possibly that should be a thing for later."

"This is true. I rock the house at Whack-a-Mole. Mostly because it doesn't require much depth perception."

"I'm not allowed to play," Bridge says mournfully.

Xander frowns. "Why not?"

"I cheated once when I was six and got a lifetime ban." From the specific carnival where the event in question occurred, but he'd been young and impressionable and had taken the ultimatum to heart.

"Cheated? How do you cheat at Whack-a-ohhh. You knew where the next one was gonna pop up."

"Yup," Bridge says, looking sheepish.

Xander snickers, then stops. "...How did they know you cheated?"

"I, uh. May have kinda confessed as much."

That's Xander not laughing. Really. "I may kinda love you."

"It was the right thing to do!" Even if it had resulted in that stupid ban.
