Food was, in theory, ready. This was because Xander had, in fact, totally cheated -- the only things that hadn't come from the food synthesizer were the coffee and pie. The pie was chocolate peanut butter pie, and consisted of peanut butter, milk, pudding, and Cool Whip, but at least he'd made it himself!

You do Thanksgiving your way, and he'll do it his, mm'kay?

"Chocolate and peanut butter!" Bridge says. "Which is untraditional but hey, sometimes tradition must be bucked if it's for a good cause. Like tastiness."

"You have a very good point there, and chocolate and peanut butter are of the good," Z said. "Lead me to the pie! Wait, no. We have to eat other food before pie, don't we?"

"Some traditions should not be bucked," Bridge says. "And really, the other food, while not pie, is also good."

"See, now you've got it," Bridge says with a nod.

"I'm getting this Thanksgiving thing down," Z said. "It's not just the day random volunteers show up at the shelters to do their good deed for the year, you know."

"Um, right," Bridge says, running a hand through his hair awkwardly. "There's totally more to it than that."

"Like hanging out with your friends and eating pie," Z said with a nod.

"Also turkey and... some sort of green thing with beans," Bridge eyes said bean thing warily.

"I think it's a casserole?" Z said doubtfully. As far as Z was concerned, 'casserole' was French for 'I don't know what's in this.'

"Well, I guess we'll find out soon enough."

"Be brave, Bridge," said Z. "It probably won't kill us."

"...Don't *say* that!" Bridge gives Z a horrified look. "That's the sort of thing that results in a beam of energy from the moon coming down and turning it into a monster."

Z looked equally horrified. "I didn't even think about that! But, we're not Power Rangers yet, right? And Adam's not invited, and stuff like that only ever happens to Power Rangers. Right?"

"You're right, you're right," Bridge says, though he doesn't look entirely convinced. "Just to be safe we should maybe eat it."

"Sounds like a plan to me," Z said agreeably. "We're preventing evil."

"Which is a very Power Rangery thing to do, wouldn't you say?"

"Absolutely. We should probably eat the turkey, too," Z added. "Since if I was going to zap something into a holiday-themed monster from the moon, I'd go for the turkey. Maybe the cranberry sauce, but it would be a very jiggly monster."

"I think the turkey thing already happened once," Bridge points out. "Which means the cranberry sauce is clearly our number one suspect." In a crime it may or may not commit.

"Yeah, I think you're right there," Z said. "Way way back in the day. And I've never quite trusted the looks of the cranberry sauce, anyway. It's so...can-shaped."

"This one came right from the replicator, though," Bridge points out. "And it was already in a bowl. No can involved."

"Do you think that makes it less likely to grow legs and go on a rampage?" Z wondered. "Being from a replicator, not real cranberries?"
