MCA #0, Thursday Night (Movie Night)

To say it'd been a weird couple of weeks for a lot of his friends would be an understatement. Xander knew a movie night wasn't going to magically fix that, but it least it would give them a chance to relax a little.

So he had the basic necessities: popcorn, stuff in the kitchen for more substantial snacks, over-caffeinated soda and, of course, movies. The box of his things that had arrived from storage this week contained most of his dvds, not that he'd amassed all that many since Sunnydale went boom, but certainly enough for tonight.

And Harper had been nice enough to leave the place furnished with a less than basic necessity - the huge tv in the den. Xander wasn't about to claim this job didn't have perks.

So now he (and Jeremiah, who was supervising the proceedings from a table near the couch) was just waiting for people to show up.

While Alec wasn't exactly one to be uncomfortable with people he didn't know well, he still wasn't sure why he'd come. He found a place on the floor to watch the movie, a bag of M&Ms open in his lap for snacking purposes.

"I may never go into the woods again. You as a goat, Jack was a fox last summer," she laughed. "My luck I'd wind up as a bondage chicken or something."

"It could be worse," Alec said. "I think everyone's practically programmed to think random barnyard animals are students, so no danger of being killed and eaten."

"That's true. So if I wound up as a small calf, there'd be no chance of someone chasing me down because they got a sudden urge for veal parm." Isabel took a handful of popcorn and nibbled on a piece. "So other then having the urge to cross a troll bridge, how's life been treating you?"

"Not bad," he said easily, then grinned when he thought a little more on it. "Actually, pretty damn good. What about you?"

"I've had better weeks, but I'm doing okay," she shrugged. "This helps."
