"So we're on seven, right?" Xander asks Bridge as he strikes a match. He knows the answer, because it's not exactly the first Hanukkah celebration he's been to (not even counting the previous six nights) but it never hurts to confirm with the experts.

[OOC: Shh, yes, we know 2023 wouldn't match up with this year's Jewish calendar. Shh. It's another dimension and G-d knows these guys are so timefrakked anyway that who knows what day it really is for them. OH ALSO open for the locals, and/or calls from FH friends.]

"We're on day seven, by the way," Bridge supplies helpfully. "Or night seven, depending on the calendar you feel like going by."

"I thought it was earlier, for some reason," Z said because her player can't resist a dash of meta.

"Hanukkah always starts on the same day," Bridge says. "The 25th of Kislev." Which is true enough, even if that's not always the same day in the Gregorian calendar.

"Yeah, I don't see 'Kislev' on my calendar," she said wryly.

"Because you're using the wrong one," Bridge says oh-so-logically.

Z frowned. "Am not."

"Are if you're looking for Hebrew months," Bridge points out.

"I'm not usually looking for Hebrew months, Bridge," Z pointed out. "Seeing as I'm Catholic and all." Very lapsed Catholic.

"Yes, well. If you wanted to know when Hanukkah was that's where you'd look," Bridge says. Never mind that most Gregorian calendars had it anyway.

"I looked at a regular calendar and it had it," Z told him. She'd just...promptly forgotten, that was all.

"Yeah, well..." Bridge trails off. "Doughnut?" he says, grabbing one of the jelly-filled ones he'd brought out.

Z would love a doughnut, actually, but, "Isn't that, like, a stereotype?"

Z gave him an 'oh, Bridge,' look, and corrected him. "Cops eating doughnuts."
