MCA0: Wednesday night

While the Policeman's ball had been a fun ending to a productive week, and Monday had even started well, Xander's anniversary this month? DO NOT WANT.

Which is why, now that Bridge is feeling better, Xander's got his apartment all set up for a romantic evening.

You know. Pizza, highly-caffeinated soda, Galaxy Quest dvds.

Pizza? What pizza?

"Mmmmmkay," Xander says eventally. "I'll take that."

"S'more where that came from," Bridge says with a grin. "But first there should probably be dinner or it'll get cold and we can't have that."

"Well, it's pizza, so it's actually kind of awesome cold, but only at three in the morning, which it isn't, so yeah." Xander grabs himself a slice and a drink and flops on the couch.

And the flopping is Bridge's cue for snuggling. "Now with 100% less crazy-heat-breath," he points out happily. Of course, Xander already knew this from when they woke up Tuesday morning, but still.

"20% more pizza-breath, but I can handle that." Mighty big of him considering what he's currently chowing down on himself.

"I'd hope so, considering the pizza was your idea in the first place."

Xander snorts. "Right, because all my ideas are good."

"Well, I can't speak for *all* your ideas but apart from the one where you spent three months insisting we *shouldn't* get back together, you've got a pretty good track record with *me*," Bridge points out.

See, and a Xander who always had good ideas would probably keep his mouth shut and not say, "I don't think that was one of my bad ones."

Annnnd that would be Bridge flinching somewhat visibly and looking over at Xander. "What do you mean?" he asks carefully.

"I just don't think worrying about whether something I do is gonna hurt you is ever a bad idea," Xander answers.

"Oh," Bridge deflates. "Those three months kind of sucked, for me, though." he points out.

Xander presses his lips together, then sighs and nods. "Yeah. I didn't love that part of it."

"But, hey. Things are good *now*, so..." he trails off.

"So." Xander smiles, putting down his plate. "Movie? Where's that fall on the good idea/bad idea scale?"

"Definitely in the good idea column," Bridge says.

"Movie with blobby aliens vs. movie with naked people?"

The blobby aliens one is actually in the dvd player, but it's not like he doens't have the other kind.

Bridge gives Xander a wide-eyed look. "Um. Let's just stick with blobby aliens? Uh. For now. If that's okay?"

Xander reaches for the remote. "Just checking." As he hits play, he adds, "That was an either/or, by the way - not that I judge, but none of my naked people movies have blobby aliens."

"Um. Good. Because that combination really does nothing for me. Just so you know."

"Yeah, me neither. I like the scary tentacly things to stay on one side of my brain, and the sexy funky fun things on the other." Ah, if only his dating history backed this up.

"Of course, I wouldn't object to doing some of those other-side-of-the-brain things *after* the movie," Bridge grins at Xander. "I am just saying."

"And now I'm supposed to be able to concentrate on warp core breaches?" Xander asks as the opening credits blossom across the screen.

"I haven't seen this one yet," Bridge says seriously.

"That wasn't a spoiler. There's always a warp core breach."
