MCA0: Wednesday night

While the Policeman's ball had been a fun ending to a productive week, and Monday had even started well, Xander's anniversary this month? DO NOT WANT.

Which is why, now that Bridge is feeling better, Xander's got his apartment all set up for a romantic evening.

You know. Pizza, highly-caffeinated soda, Galaxy Quest dvds.

It's a practically *bouncing* Bridge that's knocking on Xander's door right now.

Xander grins when he opens it. "You do remember you have a key, right?"

"Yes," Bridge says. "But I don't want to just, like, barge in. Because that would be rude. So I knock."

"I guarantee I will never be doing something it would be rude to barge in on. Not without you already being here, and if you were already here then you couldn't barge. Because you'd be here."

Not for nothing does Xander speak fluent Rosenberg/Carson.

"Unless a me from an alternate universe showed up. Or Z and I switched powers by accident. Or I was cloned." Bridge points out logically.

Xander ponders this as he steps aside to let Bridge in. "So.... two of you would be bad... how?"

"I'd have to share with me," Bridge gives Xander a very exaggerated pout.

"Yeah, but it'd be you." Xander points towards the den, from where it'd be pretty impossible not to smell the hot pizza.

"You win this round," Bridge says. "Because I'm hungry and because that pizza smells really, really good."

"Go me." Xander perches on the arm of the sofa and leans down to pass Bridge a plate and napkins. "What do I win?"

"Well, I'm not cloning myself so you're going to have to settle for just this," Bridge says, pulling Xander in to a kiss.

Pizza? What pizza?

"Mmmmmkay," Xander says eventally. "I'll take that."

"S'more where that came from," Bridge says with a grin. "But first there should probably be dinner or it'll get cold and we can't have that."

"Well, it's pizza, so it's actually kind of awesome cold, but only at three in the morning, which it isn't, so yeah." Xander grabs himself a slice and a drink and flops on the couch.

And the flopping is Bridge's cue for snuggling. "Now with 100% less crazy-heat-breath," he points out happily. Of course, Xander already knew this from when they woke up Tuesday morning, but still.

"20% more pizza-breath, but I can handle that." Mighty big of him considering what he's currently chowing down on himself.

"I'd hope so, considering the pizza was your idea in the first place."

Xander snorts. "Right, because all my ideas are good."

"Well, I can't speak for *all* your ideas but apart from the one where you spent three months insisting we *shouldn't* get back together, you've got a pretty good track record with *me*," Bridge points out.

See, and a Xander who always had good ideas would probably keep his mouth shut and not say, "I don't think that was one of my bad ones."

Annnnd that would be Bridge flinching somewhat visibly and looking over at Xander. "What do you mean?" he asks carefully.

"I just don't think worrying about whether something I do is gonna hurt you is ever a bad idea," Xander answers.

"Oh," Bridge deflates. "Those three months kind of sucked, for me, though." he points out.

Xander presses his lips together, then sighs and nods. "Yeah. I didn't love that part of it."

"But, hey. Things are good *now*, so..." he trails off.
