MCA #0, Sunday Night

Some goodbyes hit harder than others, not that Xander is a fan of any of them. Sunday night finds him slumped on the couch, Galaxy Quest (the reunion film) playing with the sound down low, and Xander flipping through photos on his laptop.

He's a grownup now, so he's allowed to call this mood maudlin instead of emo. Even if it's totally emo.

Right, like Bridge was gonna want to spend tonight alone. Here he is, knocking on Xander's door.

Xander's got a reasonably good idea who's here this late; he answers the door with a "Hey, you" before he quite has it open, even.

"Hi," is all Bridge manages before going in for a hug.

Xander's not about to turn that down - not that he usually would, but especially tonight. He runs his hand lightly through the back of Bridge's hair while holding on with the other.

"She's gone," Bridge says miserably.

"Yeah," Xander agrees. "But not gone-gone. We can still call."

"She said she would, too," Bridge notes. "But it's not quite the same."

"It's not, no." Xander pulls him into the apartment and shuts the door behind them.

"When *you* were gone, and all I could think of was how much I missed you, she stayed up all night with me and watched Galaxy Quest just to keep me company," Bridge informs Xander.

That both surprises Xander, and on reflection, doesn't at all. "That's what I was watching, actually." He points to the tv.

"Mind some company?" and okay, he *knows* what the answer will be. But this is Bridge so he asks.

This is not the night to tease him, Xander decides. "I really wouldn't."

"Good," Bridge says, grabbing Xander's hand and pulling him back over towards the couch.

Xander moves the laptop aside, the screen still filled with a picture of a bunch of them seated around a campfire from last summer - from Bridge's POV, anyway.

"Parker gave me a CD, when I left. With a bunch of music and pictures and stuff on it," he says, glancing over at it.

"She made you a mix CD?" Bridge can't help but grin at that.

"They still have mix CDs in the FUTURE future?" Xander counters, grinning.

"Syd's usually consist of random selections of her songs," Bridge rolls his eyes. "I think she has a different understanding of the concept of "mix" than the rest of us."

"It could be worse," Xander points out. "It could be all the same song."

Bridge laughs as he leans his head against Xander's shoulder. "'Me, Me, Me' fifteen times in a row. I love Syd, but that's a terrifying thought."

"Me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me..... Yeah, I see what you mean."

"Well, I meant the song she has by that name- did I ever make you listen to it? But that too."

"I don't think so? I kinda liked 311, Max, though."

"She likes to use 'Me, Me, Me' as an interrogation tool," Bridge informs Xander. "I think that should tell you plenty about the song."

"Why do I think she and Cordelia would get along like a really expensive house on fire?"

"...because they *would*." Bridge's eyes widen.

"That might need to never ever happen."
