"Shut up." Xander was not talking to a frog. At all.

Okay, maybe it'd be more accurate to say Xander was not speaking to the frog. What? Jeremiah kept staring at him.

"Did Giles put you up to this? Dawn?" Xander had a unique definition of 'not speaking,' yes.

"Rideep?" //Cricketplz?//

"I'm so not having this discussion with you. And not just because I don't speak Frog."

Xander wasn't talking to a frog; he was putting a frog tank in the bedroom.

"Are you really challenging my spreadsheet?" Willow asked. "Because that sort of talk means I'll have to ask you to step outside, and you know that won't go well for you."

"Nope. Outside's dangerous. I put a bottle of rum out there on Monday night and I never saw it again."

"I miss the little penguins," Willow said. In Fandom, that was a respectable segue. "I hope they're enjoying their scarves, where ever they are."

"I hope they liked the rum better than it liked me, if they're the ones who took it," Xander said.

"Slide shows are better than drinking," Willow told him.

Xander glanced at The End on the screen. "There could be slide shows with drinking. This could be one of those."

"Want a sip of my soda?" Willow offered.

"Not quite what I had in mind." Though Xander didn't stand up to go get anything else.

"This is what happens when I can outsmart you at every turn," Willow said. She handed her can over. "No spitting."

Xander took a drink and handed it back. "The fact that you're smarter than me? Not really news."

Willow took a sip in turn. "So you should save yourself tons of time and just do whatever I tell you to. Because my choices are the smart ones."

Xander felt that now would not be a good time to go into a detailed rundown of the next few years of his Willow's life, tempting as it might be.

"This one's my choice, though, Will. I screw it up, I'm the one to blame. Not you."

"But if you know that you are currently screwing up, you could fix that by doing the opposite," Willow said.

"Oh come on, you of all people can't possibly underestimate my ability to find newer and more creative ways to be an idiot." Xander threw a piece of popcorn at her. And then stared at his shoes. "I kissed him on Saturday night. As for instance."

Willow did acknowledge his point, but moved on to the greater issue.

"Good kiss?" From tone it was clear she was asking if he'd enjoyed it.

"It wasn't him. He was possessed." No, that wasn't an answer. Then again, enjoyed would probably not be the word he'd choose if he was going to answer that.

"Ahhhh," Willow said, getting it. "Sucks how often that happens around us."

Xander snorted. "You know, I actually thought I'd broken my streak there, for a while."

"At least Bridge himself isn't a demon," Willow said. She tucked her feet up under her and picked at a stray thread on her skirt. "And... I think being snuggly with happiness is okay. Provided you're not Angel."

"And there's a nice unpainy example of a seventeen year old dating a much older guy..."

"My boyfriend's from World War II," Willow replied. "So as far as the two people in this room are concerned, I win."

"Your boyfriend's three years younger than you, not nine, and as far as anybody knows, you're actually the same age."

"Hey, this is all seventeen," Willow said, pointing to herself. "It's just my mind that's older and if we're counting that then I really should've included a slide about the whole mental maturity thing since it does seem to be a leitmotif."

"This is all twenty-six. Including the brain." Xander pointed to himself. "I may not be a great grown-up, but I am one."
