MCA 0: Sunday Night

Xander is exhausted when he finally makes it back to his apartment, and not the good kind of engagement-announcing, Parker-tormenting, hard work and butt-bow-threatening kind of exhaustion.

No, this would be more the missing fiancé, teleporting to Greece, climbing Mount Olympus, hey-let's-play 20-questions-with-the-gods kind of exhaustion. Plus there was hopscotch.

You'd think some of that would go away after he discovered Bridge had been rescued, but not so much. Xander's still bone-weary with worry, and probably will be until he makes it inside and sees him face-to--- "Bridge?"

[OOC: For he whose name is on Xander's ass. Still not you, Jamie.]

Once he'd arrived there, a quick search determined that Xander wasn't in the apartment. And so Bridge settled in to wait, sliding down into a sitting position against the wall near the door. As soon as he hears the key rattling in the doorknob, he's up like a shot, pouncing on Xander before the door's even shut all the way.

"*You're* okay," Bridge says, by way of reply. Not that he'd spent the time waiting fighting off the growing terror that Xander *wouldn't* be coming back or anything.

"I didn't *mean* to," not that he ever means to.

"Where were you, then?" Bridge asks after a moment. "Cause when I got home and you weren't here, I thought..." the worst.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-23 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh," Bridge nods. "Did it work, then?" Possibly a stupid question, but he's had a very hard couple of days, okay? His mind's a little scattered at the moment.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-23 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh," Bridge says again. "Um. Maybe we should move? Or something. Not that I mind being right here as long as you're right here, but there's, you know. Couches. Or a bed."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-23 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
"You're here and not gone," is Bridge's reply.

"I was- they put me in this cave... thing? Only it wasn't really a cave since there wasn't any way out, but then you were there only you weren't because you kept *leaving*, everyone did..." he babbles.

"Nightmares," Bridge nods. "You, Anders, Isabel, Z... you were there and then you weren't. There was just me."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-23 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Not disagreeing here," Bridge says. He frowns for a moment, because there's something important kind of nagging at him. "Um, what day is it?" He's pretty sure he'd been gone for longer than just a few hours, but the passage of time hadn't exactly been something he'd paid a lot of attention to during the nightmares.

"Mount *Olympus*?" Bridge repeats. Sure, Xander had mentioned Greece, but somehow he hadn't made the connection to Olympus. Though he supposed it made sense, given that Hades was a Greek god and all. "I missed Anders' birthday," he explains, looking sheepish. "Oh, man..."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-23 02:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Bridge can't help but smile a little at that. "Sounds like something Anders would do," he admits.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-23 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"Z too," Bridge says quietly. "I saw her after- after they got us all out," and now he's wondering why he didn't see Isabel, but there had been so many people...

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-23 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
There is a flash of... something, in Bridge's eyes, as Xander pushes him away, and his grip on Xander's hand tightens, just a little.

"They were just dreams," he says."That's all."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-24 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
"Good," Bridge says, resting his head on Xander's shoulder. "M'not losing you again."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-24 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Which gets a laugh out of Bridge. "I do remember. Sorry I'm being all clingy," he adds after. "I'm just- I *need*-"

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-24 03:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Bridge grins at that. "That's good. Because letting go is something I really, really don't want to do right now."

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-24 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Which Bridge responds to in the only way possible: that is, the 'hi, it's been like two days since the last time we had a chance to do this, and I spent most of that time stuck in my worst nightmare' way.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
And while part of him would be perfectly content to just do this all night (sleep, yeah right), there's another part of Bridge's brain that's currently occupied with trying to figure out how to get the two of them out of clothes without actually letting go of Xander.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
A helpful wiggle or two and isn't teamwork awesome? Bridge certainly thinks so.

[identity profile] bridge-carson.livejournal.com 2008-06-25 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yeahno, orgies would not be Bridge's idea of good teamwork. So really, perhaps partnership would be the better word.

Either way, it's a good thing that sex in the living room is a frequent enough occurrence that they're well-prepared for the eventuality.
