MCA0: Sunday Night

This time, Xander didn't get stuck to the couch. He's expecting the boyfriend back, after all, and there's still... well, eight hours or so of Spring Break left. Sort of.

So he spent the evening in the kitchen. There's like, real food. Real "this came from a cow, and next to it is this thing they discovered in the New World called a potato and damn does it all smell good" food.

The only challenge is, well, not eating it before Bridge gets here.

"You'd rather I drowned you in chocolate milk?"

"What? No!" Bridge zips around in a little circle. "No drowning or putting in jars!"

"I wasn't planning on either."

"I knew that," Bridge admits. Because really, he *did*. "I just, this whole thing is very... disconcerting. Even more so than being a ferret."

"Sorry," Xander says, feeling guilty for... well, not for not taking it seriously enough, but for not realizing how flummoxed Bridge was. "Sometimes I don't know how to turn off the laugh track."

He reaches for Bridge's shoulder - but of course there's not a shoulder there to reach for.

"S'okay. If you did then... you wouldn't be you," Bridge says, floating over to where Xander's hand is.

Xander holds out his hand, palm-up, weird as it is. Then again, weird as it is, it's... not that weird. Not that much weirder than walking around with a ferret on his shoulder. Or waking up with a Bridge who's suddenly four or thirty-seven.

"You're still you, too. No matter what shape you're in."

"Thanks," Bridge says, settling his sparkly little self down on Xander's palm. "Just... thanks. For everything."

Xander grins at the little ball of green light, lifting his hand closer to his face. "Hmm. You won't burn my lips off, will you?"

"I don't *think* I'm giving off heat..." Bridge says.

"I guess I'll have to risk it," Xander says, oh so seriously, and tries to plant a kiss on the sparkleballbridge.

Bridge stays very, very still. And can't help but glow a little brighter at the kissage.

"Still got lips!"

"Good!" Bridge says firmly. "Cause I'm kind of fond of your lips, you know."

"...Also that tickled, a little," he adds, after a moment.

"I...have no idea what part of you I was kissing. Maybe it was the back of your knee!"

"Hmm," Bridge says. "Clearly, the only way to solve this mystery is a series of extensive tests, once I'm me-shaped again."
