Mauvaise Chance Roof Garage, Friday Morning

Xander had unlocked the doors up there and was checking out the facilities... but not speculatively eyeing the corner room that looked like it could easily be set up as a carpentry workshop because that would mean he was thinking things he couldn't afford to be thinking.

He'd left a note downstairs at the desk indicating where he was, just in case someone came by looking for him, and one on the door of his apartment.

Having no classes on Fridays meant Bridge could do things like wander in to town. Wander in to a specific place in town, even.

"Hi!" he says brightly.

"Hey." Xander waved a slightly overcomplex-looking wrench at him. "Sorry I missed you yesterday; coffee with Isabel turned into coffee with half the free world."

"It's okay," Bridge says with a grin. "Willow and I entertained ourselves. Not dirty."

"Which was slightly unnecessary because if it had been...?"

Bridge gives Xander an innocent look. "I would have insisted we spent the entire time reading very dry technical manuals."

"Which is a good choice, because it's you and Willow so I'd never know for sure if you were serious or not, which is exactly how I like it." Xander leaned back against a support-post and crossed his arms. "So what did you do that didn't involve dirty technical manuals?"

"Watched Mr. What," Bridge says with a shrug. "Oh, and you know how Willow has a sign that says 'Assistant' on it?"

"My player I... may actually have a Mister What Technical Manual" Xander admitted with a cough. "With the schematics of the robots, and ship console, all laid out like it would actually work except not so much. And yeah, I have a nodding acquaintance with that sign."

Which had magically appeared on the desk yesterday at the same time as Willow appeared behind it, but like Xander was going to argue?

"I... may have asked her to make me one that said "Assistant Assistant"" Bridge says innocently. Yes, this was his way of saying he'd hired himself to work at the apartments.

Xander nodded, as if he'd been expecting that one. Which he hadn't but he should've been. "You do realize we have no vacancies so your combined jobs are playing with the computer and telling people we have no vacancies..."

"I'm working on a self-dispensing cookie dish for the front counter," Bridge informs Xander. "It's also going to take messages. That was Willow's idea."

"Just messages about the cookies, or any messages?" Xander flicked the tightener-threads on the wrench and said before Bridge got the chance to go off on the logic-spree he'd probably incited, "I talked to Parker. Asked if she wanted to get together tonight to try and figure out something to do about Cal. You in?"

"As if you even need to ask."

"It's apparently BYO favorite illegal substance, because Parker refuses to drink Cally's moonshine."

"I do have spacevodka," Bridge points out.

"Also if you bring your own, I am not officially corrupting you. I think."

"...the bar doesn't card people. Which you know because you used to go there when you were nineteen," Bridge points out. "Reeeeally don't think corrupting's an issue, here."

"True. Though the bar's also run by a guy dating a black-and-white ex-hooker who can't be much older than the people he's not carding."
