Xander's Workshop, MCA Roof, Early Sunday Evening

It'd been one of those weekends. If by that you mean "those weekends you dream about and then wake up promising yourself never to touch runny cheese at a college mixer ever, ever again."

Still, he had a guest, of sorts, and he might as well show her that he did something besides Apartment Managing, without showing her the other thing he did besides Apartment Managing. Which was why they were currently in the elevator heading for the roof of the building.

"I thought about it," Bridge admits. "I kinda... really liked the idea. For, uh. Someday. In the future. Not now. Though I like now, too."

Xander grins. "I like now a lot."

"Now's pretty great, yeah," Bridge grins back at him.

"I didn't tell Mom about Bronwyn," Xander says, still thinking about it even though he's sort of skittering away from thinking about it. "She wouldn't have gotten it."

"Yeah, time travel sort of makes things confusing, if you're not accustomed to it," Bridge says. "Which. Speaking of. Sorry if I made things more confusing, with the whole 'ten months' thing."

"Nah. I mean if is she knew how old you aren't and she'd really done the math, me telling her I was dating you four years ago would've got me arrested if she wasn't my mom." Xander frowns and sits up a little. "Actually I kinda hope it would've got me arrested anyway."

"Four years ago, I didn't exist yet," Bridge points out.

"I think she'd have as hard a time swallowing that one as hearing about our kid from the future showing up," Xander points out right back.

"I did tell we, uh, talked about it," he adds.

"About what? Kids?" Bridge asks.

Xander nods, settling his head back down in Bridge's lap. "She asked about grandkids."

"Well, it's true," Bridge points out. "'Cause we *did* talk about kids. Of course, said discussion probably wouldn't have happened until much later if it weren't for said kid showing up on our doorstep- or, okay, falling out of the sky at us, technically."

"A tree. Technically." A dorky smile spreads over Xander's face.

"And it was more of a jump than a fall," Bridge adds.

"I'm going with controlled plummet."

"It kind of looked like she had a lot of practice at that sort of thing," Bridge muses.

"Throwing herself at people? Or just expecting us to be there to catch her."

"That second one," Bridge replies. "Well, okay, probably some of that first as well, but mostly the second thing."

"I think maybe we're good at catching kids falling from the sky."
