Since he's himself again, Xander's figuring it's probably his turn to make breakfast - or in this case brunch, since he's waiting for Bridge's class to let out before feeding him. Which he's all for, because brunch is very firmly daylight, and right now? Daylight is of the good.

Somebody to eat said food would be good too.

Bridge laughs. "Seriously. Best boyfriend ever."

"There's always room for improvement - I could order some boysenberry."

"Ooh, there's an idea..." Bridge might be methodically filling up equal sections of waffle-squares with each kind of syrup.

"But it probably wouldn't get here before--" Xander stops and then sort of *headwalls*. "Or I could try to get it out of the synthesizer."

"You could," Bridge agrees with a grin. "But I'd still order some. The real thing is always better."

"True. I'm not sure the synthesizer would put the right amount of boysen in."

"Might end up with all sen and no boy." Bridge points out solemnly.

"That would be bad. I like-- you know sometimes the punchline is too easy."

"Well, I will have you know that *I* am not easy," Bridge says primly. Which is true enough, unless Xander happens to be the one doing the propositioning, of course.

"Uh huh. So if I said hey, I know other places syrup can go besides waffles, your answer would be..."

"...that I like getting sticky with you?" Bridge replies, trying to look innocent.

"That sounds pretty easy to me."

"With *you*," Bridge repeats, emphasizing that last word. "I'm not planning on getting sticky with, say, Z or Anders or anyone."

"Good to know," Xander answers, amused, then pours syrup onto his waffle, square by square.

"I don't think 'easy' applies if it's just with one person," Bridge argues.

And then there are the punchlines it's illegal not to take. "Hard applies if it's just one person," Xander argues.

"You're not wrong," Bridge admits.

"Well, I'm good with 'easy for me.'" Xander grins. "Easy is different. Hasn't been easy for a long time."

"I get that," Bridge nods. "Not that it was a long time for me. But it was... a time. I like this time better. Also, um. Since we're on the subject of us... do you want to go to the dance with me on Friday?"

"The Homecoming Dance?" Xander considers yanking his chain for a second, but... easy should go both ways, yeah? "Seriously, that was a question?"

"Well, I thought... actually I don't know what I thought, except that I should ask, instead of just assume."

"If the question has to do with me wanting to be with you, you can always assume the answer's yes."

Xander grins back. "Be nice to get to talk to people aga-- oh, speaking of. The speaking. Of. We should probably not, when it comes to the fangy issue? For now, at least. We don't need the whole island on a hunting spree, especially the people who don't know what they're doing."
