There is a lump under the covers. It's vaguely Xander-shaped, but that is of course no guarantee that it actually is Xander, all tuckered out from...uh. Working. Yes. The day before yesterday. And the oh so exhausting reading of e-mail.

It might not be him. It could be pillows, or a pile of sleepy gremlins, or, hey, it could be a giant puppet-Xander made out of Xander's clothes with a lot of twinkies for filling and a stuffed frog for a head.

Or it could just be Xander with a stuffed frog on his head.

"Mmmhmm," there's starting to be a vague awareness of the fact that it's morning and that this conversation doesn't make sense, but Bridge is currently choosing to ignore that in favour of keeping his eyes firmly shut and shifting slightly in an effort to be as close to the other occupant of the bed as possible.

As evidenced by the fact that he actually managed to make a direct reference to something Bridge said, the Xander-shaped-lump might be slightly more awake than he's letting on. He's more than happy to keep not letting on, because warm and not-vertical is nice. Even with a frog on your head.

"S'better'n peanut butter," Bridge mumbles after a moment.

"The tractor?" Xander grins in his not-sleep.

"No...?" Bridge says, confused. "Warm," he adds, as if this explains everything.

"Warm peanut butter?"

"Nuh-uh," Bridge protests. "I've gotta Xander," he says with a sleepy smile.

"I hear those are expensive."

"C'n only afford the one."

"Really high-maintenance, huh?"

"Mmmhmm," there might be something that sounds suspiciously like a sleepy giggle, along with a hand reaching up to touch his nose, accompanying that comment.

"If it would help, I know a handyman who'd probably give you a discount on any repairs you might need."

"Is that so?" Bridge opens his eyes and grins at Xander. Oh, look who's decided to join the land of no longer pretending to be asleep.

"Yuh-huh. He's pretty low-maintenance. Just have to pay him in twinkies and kisses."

"*That* I can definitely afford," Bridge says, demonstrating this by adding "Morning," followed by a kiss. Because there aren't any twinkies in reaching distance.

"This is totally the best way to wake up *ever*," Bridge says cheerfully.

Xander can think of a couple that might be slightly better, but rather than argue it, he just makes a note to try one of them next time.

"I'm not hating it," he murmurs instead, ruffling Bridge's hair.

"Hey," Bridge protests, but there's no real annoyance behind it. And besides, the hair-ruffling is reminding him of something. "I bought green dye," he informs Xander.

"...The best part of waking up is green dye in your cup?" Xander sort of remembers there's a green dye thing, but his brain's still catching up a little.

"I think I'm s'posed to put it on, not drink it," Bridge replies. "Unless it's some weird new kind where you do have to do that."

"Oh, your hair." There might be more ruffling.

"Yep," Bridge grins. "Wanna help?"

"We're not turning your hair green forever, right?" Xander checks.
