MCA #0: Monday Night

Between his alternate self's son with Parker, some alternate Bridge's son with Marie, and the much more surprise appearance of a daughter who Xander was still having trouble believing was possible, he was operating completely on go-with-the-flow logic at this point.

So after a long afternoon in the Park with all three of them, and calls to certain people's alterna-moms, MCA #0 had suddenly turned into YMCA #0 for the night. The couch in the living room was folded out into a bed, extra sleeping bags were strewn on the floor, popcorn had been popped, and hot cocoa was currently waiting to cool down.

Xander blinks and then grins, scooting his chair in a little bit and sliding one arm around her so he can reach his cupcake too. "Did, um, your Daddy and I ever tell you about when we were little kids together?"

Bronwyn nods as she takes a big gulp of milk. "You didn't growed up together but you were teenagers and something made you little again for a weekend and you had 'ventures and got marrieds and Daddy wore a cape and then when you got marrieds for real you said there wasn't gonna be any capes thank you."

"No!" Bronwyn scrunches up her nose and tilts her head up to look at Xander. "Silly. Daddies don't wear dresses!"

"Some daddies might," Xander argues. "Like if they turned into a girl for a day. Or if they lost a bet. Or if it was really sparkly."

Bronwyn giggles at that. "There's pictures in our 'partment of when you got marrieds and you're not wearing a dress!" She points out.

"Nooooo!" Bronwyn protested amidst scandalised giggles. And then claps her hand over her mouth because everyone else is SLEEPING oh em gee. "Ooops."

"Shhhhhhh." Xander stuffs a bit of cupcake in her mouth. "We are quiet like ninhas!"

"Mmmphehehe!" Bronwyn giggles around a mouthful of cupcake. "Cupcakey ninjas!"

"Secret unnerground zord bays?" Bronwyn asks, in her very best Innocent Voice.

"Is that where they store the giant robots?" Xander asks, remembering the word zord from Bridge, though he'd never had a clear picture of what one looks like.

"Normally they're in the reg'lar zord bay but sometimes they need to hide them from the bad guys so they go in there," Bronwyn explains. "And Daddy knows where it is but he wouldn't *tell* me so I hadta go looking!"

Xander facepalms with the hand not holding a cupcake. "Of course you did."

Bronwyn doesn't say anything, just beams up at him, glad that he understands why she just HAD to go looking for it.

Owtoobright. "You look just like your Daddy, you know" Xander says, using his non-cupcakey hand to tuck some of her hair behind her ear.

"That's what *he* says too, that I looks just like you," Bronwyn informs him. "We gots the same kinda hair, see? Only mine is longerer."

"It is?" Xander tugs at the hair over his own ear. "Well, maybe a little bit."

"You can't put yours in 'tails," Bronwyn points out, sounding not at all sleepy nope.

"I could. They'd just be really small. And also I'd look silly." Xander pushes his cupcake plate out of the way and takes a last drink of his milk.

Xander folds his arms around her, knowing he should put her back to bed, but not wanting to let go yet. There's something about holding a small, sleepy kid on his lap that feels kind of like he's been missing it forever and never realized 'til now.

Xander's does too, though it's not because he's falling asleep. It's because when he bends his head to kiss the top of hers and says, "Love you too," he realizes it's true.
