"Cal's about ready to be released from the hospital, if they don't hand her over to the County mental health facility. I thought we ought to step in before that happened."
"Veronica's. She's not there this weekend, but Piper is, and she said Cal can stay there for a while to get her head together." Parker sighed. "It's the best I can come up with that's a world away from Angel."
"Well, V's place is definitely that." Xander remembered her face when she'd interviewed him about Sunnydale for journalism class. "No vampires over there." He rubbed the back of his neck, already moving to feed Jeremiah and otherwise deal with the stuff he needed to before leaving for LA.
"Though I did see somebody who looked like her once, back in my dimension," he added absently." Which reminded him of things he needed to talk to Parker about, too - but not tonight. "From a distance. Didn't talk to her."
"Hunh. Seriously? Like John and Cam are twins, and Lee and Archie were?" Parker thought about that and shivered a little. "Let's hope V's dimension doesn't have a Callisto anywhere Neptune. She doesn't need one more thing to mess with her head." She sighed. "I was just about to buy some Portal-O-City tickets-- you want in?"
The thought of portals still made him a little twitchy, but he and Bridge had made it to LA and back safely enough the first time. "Yeah, I'll be there. You're taking Bridge too, right?" Xander couldn't imagine him not coming, or Parker thinking of excluding him from this.
"Of course. He's the one who's best with Cal when she gets unreasonable. And I don't want to have Hurt Puppy Bridge Eyes used on me." Parker shook her head. "Okay, so, three there; four to Veronica's dimension; three back. Ten tickets. And I'm just presenting Angel with a fait accompli-- if he had a better idea, he should have done it by now."
"Cal didn't exactly sound like he's likely to be fighting us off for her." Xander sighed. "Then again Cal didn't sound like she knew what day it was, so who knows what all's really been going down."
"He isn't, he's got other problems. Wings just feels like he owes her at this point, I think. And if Bel comes back, I want her out of the line of fire, she's in no shape to help, only get hurt." Parker shook her head. "It's time to cut ties before something drastic happens. If she'll come back here, great, but if she won't, Veronica's is a good second choice. Or as good as we've got."
"Works. Thanks for being the nominal adult, Xander." Parker grinned a little. "Well. More than in name only, but you know what I mean. I'll see you soon."
