"Hey. It's Mel. I know you're in the middle of the whole meeting the 'rents thing but I wanted you to know I'm taking off for a few days. I just... I just needed to get out of here and clear my head. I'll talk to you later."
"Xander, it's Anakin. I don't suppose you'd know anything about some kind of vampire infestation? I killed three of them in the graveyard tonight and it wasn't exactly what I had in mind for the evening. Let me know."
"And I say unto you, crap. Infestation, no; one, yeah. More than a week ago, and Mel and Dawn killed it. We were hoping to cut it off before things ever got infesty. I'll let the people with the pointy stakes know."
"Xander, this is Peter Pevensie. Willow's in the clinic. The girl here says she's stable but in a coma. ...so whatever that means. She ran into Angel in the woods, and he hurt her. Threw her into a tree. I tried to stop him, but I couldn't. I...I don't know why I'm calling, but I thought she'd want you to know."
"Okay, I've called 5 times and all I get is voicemail. Willow and Mel went missing last night, and I just got a letter from nineteen frakkin' twenty-three from Mel. If you get this, please, please, PLEASE call me back. I'm going looking for you - my phone should be able to find yours, I think."

"...I don't even know what that's supposed to mean. Look, you wanna see weird, I can show you weird. I can show you weird that... okay, you're probably used to. But I'm having a really bad day so if you're going to talk about people getting hurt, maybe leave details, you know? Like where and when and who is this anyway?"
By now tiny Jaye had just started clicking on numbers in her phone, and was always happy to hear the phone ring.
"Hi! I have a fridge. It's little and there are all these bottles and I can't get them open. You should come over and open them for me so I can see what's in it. Bye!"
And then there was a thunk that sounded a lot like a phone hitting the carpet, and then silence till the call cut off, because Jaye still didn't understand how to hang up properly.
The call came in when Xander was dozing on the couch; he didn't need to look at the caller ID before he answered with his eyes closed, "Parker. What's up?"
Booyah for custom ringtones. Though someday she was going to kill him when she called him from somewhere nearby and heard raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens... because he'd got bored and re-programmed everyone but Bridge's.
