Private Beach, Neptune, California, Sunset on Saturday, 8/16

Nobody much cares where you sit, since it's not like there's a bride's side, or like Xander and Bridge don't share all the same friends, but the green fabric deck chairs are separated by a white runner anyway.

Lit on either side by softly-muted glow-balls, it leads down to a chupah that's -- contain your shock -- just as green.

In fact, it looks pretty much like this:

"That was pretty much my reaction, too," he admitted. "Get this. My daughter marries Han Solo."

"Okay. Now I know you're pulling my leg."

"You have no idea how badly I wish I were," Anakin said, pursing his lips. "My children have terrible taste. Luke marries an assassin."

Marty crossed his arms at that. "Sometimes assassins aren't all bad. Hopefully this one is reformed?"

"Not when I knew her," Anakin said, "and she yelled at me when she came for Parents Weekend."

And that was the part that was important, yes, Anakin.

"Okay but she's reformed now, right?" Marty asked. "Because that's the important thing. I mean sure what she did was bad in the past but she's making up for it right?"

There was a long pause. "Probably," Anakin finally grumbled. "Luke wouldn't have married her otherwise. They have a son now." He gave Marty a shy smile. "Would you like to see a picture?"

Such a grandfather.

"Of course!" Marty grinned. "Let's see the little bugger."

Anakin pulled out several photos of a baby with red-blonde hair and bright blue eyes. "Meet Ben," he said proudly.

"Ben?" Marty said with a grin. "I think that's the most normal name I've heard from another planet."

Anakin smiled back. "Luke's a pretty normal name, too."

"True..." Marty admitted. "Though I think Ben is a little more common. Is that a family name?"

"Pretty much," Anakin said. "It was Obi-Wan's nickname."

"I remember him!" Marty said with a grin. "He carried me to the clinic during parents weekend."

"He remembered you, too," Anakin said. "You made him paranoid about his hair."

"I know it's wrong to be proud of that? But I am."

"I'd be proud of it, too," Anakin replied with a grin. "Driving him crazy was my hobby as a Padawan."

"That was back when you that braid thing, right?" Marty asked. "Man that seems a lifetime ago."

"Before marriage and children...it was a lifetime ago," Anakin said, nodding.

"Well for you," Marty pointed out. "For me it was just three years."

Anakin smiled. "I provide the marriage, you're working on the children...it's not so very different in just three years."

"Hey. Just one kid, grandpa" Marty teased.

"I'm much too good looking to be a grandfather," Anakin declared.

"So the kid in the photos you just showed me?" Marty said raising an eyebrow. "Who is that then?"

"Different universe," Anakin declared. "It doesn't really count."

Way to make up the rules as you go along, Anakin.
