Private Beach, Neptune, California, Sunset on Saturday, 8/16

Nobody much cares where you sit, since it's not like there's a bride's side, or like Xander and Bridge don't share all the same friends, but the green fabric deck chairs are separated by a white runner anyway.

Lit on either side by softly-muted glow-balls, it leads down to a chupah that's -- contain your shock -- just as green.

In fact, it looks pretty much like this:

Xander is totally the bride.

The audience might notice right about now that someone seems to be, uh. Missing.

Phoebe had noticed and was looking around. "Someone is going to get hurt if they ruin this for Bridge and Xander," she said quietly.

Was this the way these things were supposed to go?

Kerrigan blinked. She'd only been to one of these before, but there'd been a woman involved, so who knew.

...

She blinked, because the mood in the area felt, um, off.

Cameron was busy wondering if this meant that Xander was the bride. It took a moment before he realised that it was taking a while before said bride-groom to show up and he glanced around, as if to make sure everything was alright.

Sam leaned over to whisper, "Do you think we should go look for him?"

This... wasn't good.

Chris glanced at Summer and squeezed her hand.

"I hope everything's okay," Summer said quietly, clearly concerned.

River gave Bridge a concerned look, wondering what was going on.

Sam was a little occupied watching Dawn and keeping an eye on Dean, so he didn't notice Xander's absence right away. It wasn't long before it was noticeable though, and he tried to peer behind him to see what was going on.

Piper had noticed. She looked around, clearly concerned.

"...well, crap," Rory murmured, looking around worriedly as though she might manage to locate Xander single-handedly in a crowd of psychics. He might be behind a tree or something! You never know.

Couldn't blame a girl for trying to help, anyway.

"I thought this sort of thing only happened in movies," Anakin murmured to her.

"If Bridge's getting stood up, I'm going to...throw a waffle at Xander's head. You got my back?" she hissed, giving him a worried little look.

"Always," he said, brushing his hand against her knee. "Maybe there's some kind of bow tie related emergency?"

Even to Anakin's ears, that seemed lame.

"I think I saw that on Bridezillas once," she said, more to reassure herself than because she believed it.

"Well, that bride deserved it," he babbled. "Trying to get fourteen guys to put on matching bow ties with no mirror. Bad enough she tried to get her bridesmaids all to tan to the same shade..."

Anakin really needed to go back to work.

Rory stared at him.

He hunched up his shoulders. "There's nothing good on at three in the morning."

"I'm just trying to remember if that's the same one where the bride made her groomsmen get matching pedicures," she said mildly.

I love you, he murmured as he shook his head. "I thought that was the girl with the dyed to match poodles."

She smiled and kissed his cheek. "Was that the one who put her groom on the scary diet that she monitored while eating doughnuts?"

Oh, you bet Jen had her visual scanners on and out, looking for something fishy.

Except today was apparently one of their bad days, because the only thing fishy she locked onto was . . . a school of grunions milling about a couple of miles off the coast.

....this was odd.

Tony frowned, looking around for a moment.

Angela frowned. Shouldn't Xander be here by now?

Sokka stood up on his chair and shouted "XAAAANNNNDERRRRRR!!!" as loud as he could.
